    The whiteboard in my office was utterly useless. I inherited it from my predecessor, so it has likely seen decades of use. The surface had become entirely matte, so unless you were ready to use whiteboard cleaner and a lot of elbow grease, whatever you wrote on the thing was going to be hanging around for a while. Combine that with an environment where management really doesn’t want to spend any money on overhead expenses, and you end up with a useless wall decoration that stays blank most of the time.

    While I hate the idea of having to buy my own office supplies, this product made it bearable. Instead of spending ~$200 on a ceramic whiteboard, I was able to resurface the old one! Overall this thing is fantastic. Some markers seem to erase easier than others, but I was able to grab a few of the Expo Low Odor (NOT Expo2) markers, which do fairly well. Blue and green are the easiest to erase, followed by red, with black being the most stubborn at coming off. Even then, black marker does come off without a fight if you use some cleaning solution.

    The only advice I’d have for the application process is to make sure you read everything twice. I apparently missed the section that discussed using a wetting solution on your target surface on my first pass. Give everything a thorough cleaning, spray the surface down with water with a few drops of dish soap in it, and stick the surface in place. Having the lightly soapy water in place made it INFINITELY easier to squeegee the bubbles out. I marred a few spots while I was trying to do it dry, but if I had wetted everything from the get-go, I’d have an absolutely perfect surface to write on!
